A Palestinian man who tried to run into a Jerusalem neighborhood with a gun was shot by Israeli forces as he tried to enter the city center, the Israeli military said.
A video of the incident posted online on Wednesday showed the man running toward a fence at the intersection of A-Turm and Qalandia Streets in central Jerusalem, according to the Jerusalem Post.
The video showed a large group of Israeli soldiers holding up their guns, some with their holsters on.
A large group with their weapons were seen firing toward the Palestinian man, who was seen falling down as he attempted to enter Jerusalem’s central bus station.
“He was wounded, but he’s fine,” said a medical source quoted by the Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz.
“I hope he survives, but unfortunately, we can’t confirm that.”
The source added that the Palestinian, who appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s, was taken to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem for treatment.
A group of other people were seen running toward the crowd in the area.
In the video, several soldiers can be seen firing at the Palestinian.
The man then turns around and runs toward the Israeli army.
“They shot him in the leg,” said one of the sources quoted by Haaretz, adding that the wounded man was in critical condition.
The Israeli army has not yet confirmed the shooting.
A spokeswoman for the Israeli Defense Forces did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday.

A separate video uploaded to social media on Wednesday night showed Israeli forces shooting the wounded Palestinian in the head, causing a burst of blood.
The Palestinian man was then seen lying on the ground on his knees, bleeding heavily.
He was taken by ambulance to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
