Microsoft says its software update for its latest BMW M cars will help improve the car’s safety and ease of use.
The software update is a “new way of working with software” and is available for download from the Microsoft website, Microsoft wrote in a blog post Thursday.
It will also be available for purchase via a Windows Store app later this month.
BMW says the update will make it easier for drivers to get to their car, as well as give them a better experience with navigation, charging, and other functions.
The update is scheduled to be available to all BMW M owners this week.
BMW is working on a “few more features” for the software update, including a new “smart car mode” that will enable driver-assistance features like lane departure warning and lane keeping assistance.
The company also says that drivers will be able to request that their car be automatically turned on when they are near a public transit stop.
